Gratitude central

What’s the first thing you think about when you wake up?  Me? I think about coffee. A piping hot aromatic cappuccino with one sugar. Other mornings I think about Ryan Gosling serving me breakfast in bed … but that’s a whole other post.

This morning I thought about how lucky I am. My life is full of blessings; far too many to list here, but it was nice to lie in bed this morning and take a moment to acknowledge those blessings.

We all have days (months & years) where we feel like the world is falling apart and there is no light at the end of the tunnel. One of my favourite quotes is from Charles Jones;

“Things don’t go wrong and break your heart so you can become bitter and give up. They happen to break you down and build you up so you can be all that you were intended to be.”

Like many others, I’ve been broken and wanted to give up. But it’s the sensation of surviving another drama or crisis that makes me want to stand tall and give it another go.

It’s time to start loving life and remembering the good times. Hence, the memory jar was invented. (OK, OK, I may have found the idea on Pinterest). Hubby and I recently started writing down our gratitude’s on a piece of paper, folding it and popping it into our memory jar. We plan to open the jar on New Year’s Eve and remember the moments that made us laugh throughout the year.

Happy Tuesday xx
