The moment you fell in love. Do you remember it?
Falling in love is probably one of the most exhilarating moments of my life. It happened so quickly and unexpectedly and I desperately wanted to hit the pause button. Meeting Mr Lover at age 21 wasn’t part of my grand plan and yet the heart wants what the heart wants.
It was scary. It was out of control. It was friggin exciting.
You know you’re falling in love when all your past relationships become a blur. The hurt and resentment you hold onto in past relationships suddenly fade away. You can let go of the past because this new lover is your future.
A few weeks ago I read an online article about the exact moment when MEN fall in love. Some of the answers were hilarious and some were uber cute. Sitting on the couch watching Man vs Food, I turned to Mr Lover and asked him if he remembered the moment when he fell in love with me. In a heartbeat he answered with “when I saw your old NRL footy stickers on the inside of your wardrobe door”.
I nearly choked on my Mars Bar ice cream. Seeing my childhood footy stickers sealed our fate?
How romantic! Mr Lover went on to explain that the stickers represented our common love of footy and that was an important factor to him.
And the moment I fell in love with Mr Lover? It was 2002 and we were in my car. A very girly pop song came on the radio and Mr Lover turned up the volume and sang his little heart out with me. Most men I know would have switched to another radio station but not this guy. He loves Mariah, Roxette, Lionel Ritchie, Macklemore, Spice Girls and Jimmy Barnes.
Our common love of all music genres sealed our fate for me.
Do you remember the moment you fell in love?
